There are many places in this great country to visit. The rolling hills and the beautiful scenery all are there to entice you to visit this country again and again. London is a great vibrant city, but you will find many other places also to visit. If you venture outside London you will find lots of amazing places to visit. There are very scenic places and the interiors are not spoilt. If you venture outside London you will find many different places
York in the north of England is a lovely place to visit. It is a historical city and is also known as the walled city of England. The city is about 200 years old and the history lovers will find lots of places of interest in this lovely city.
York is surrounded by medieval wall built between 1240 and 1340 and you just can’t miss viewing these walls. Due to this reason only York is known as the city of walls.
One major attraction the Jorvik Viking centre in York. You can experience the actual lives of Vikings in this place. The life of Viking is portrayed in this town and you can experience the sound, smell and sites of the Vikings. The streets of this town were built at the time of Vikings only, during AD975.
Another attraction is the York Minster, the biggest medieval building in the whole of England. It is the most important gothic cathedral in whole of Europe. You can see the whole city from the top of the Cathedral tower. Feel the history of the places while visiting the underground crypt and museum.
The Clifford’s tower built by William the Conqueror in the year 1069 is also not a sight to be missed. The original tower was built in woods was destroyed in a fire. King Henry III rebuilt it again in the year 1245.
A boat trip on the River Ouse is a must while visiting this great city. The boat starts from the Lendal Bridge or from Kings Staith, view the city from the boat and have a relaxing day.
Another way to view the city is by taking the tour from the open top double Decker bus. You can visit the historical sights of the city from this bus.

The central part of England is a place full of roads and motorways, but there are many places where you can stop and enjoy the sights. The main sights to be enjoyed in this part of England are the Stratford-upon-Avon, a busy market town, and the home of William Shakespeare. You can enjoy the stunning scenery of the Cotswolds, and the Black Country with its modern architecture right alongside the old Victorian villages.
